Submission on NSW Collaborative Economy

IAG welcomes the NSW Government's support of the collaborative economy. There is a need for industries, businesses and governments to evolve and adjust to changing consumer needs. Clarity and consistency is required in the regulatory treatment of emerging alternative business models to provide certainty for businesses. This in turn will encourage adaptive innovation and improve consumer outcomes. There is also a need for the regulation of minimum standards to ensure the physical safety of participants, as well as the protection of personal data.
