Our commitments
Our commitments help to support the delivery of our sustainability approach. We hold ourselves to account through monitoring our performance and reporting our progress and challenges in our Annual Report.
The below table includes progress against our public environmental and social commitments at 30 June 2023. For more details on our sustainability initiatives and management of our climate-related risks and opportunities, see the FY23 Annual Report and the FY23 Group and New Zealand climate-related disclosures. For a more comprehensive view of our performance against key ESG metrics, see our FY23 ESG Data Summary, which includes data going back five years (where available).
Selected metrics outlined in this table are included in the scope of third-party limited assurance provided by KPMG. For further details see the limited assurance report availabile in the Sustainability Reports page on our website.Group Emissions table – FY23
This table provides an overview of IAG’s measured emissions for FY23. Further details are available in IAG’s FY23 ESG Data Summary. Emissions have been quantified in line with our basis of preparation, which is informed by the Greenhouse Gas Protocol using relevant Australian, New Zealand and international emission factors.
Selected metrics outlined in this table are included in the scope of third-party limited assurance provided by KPMG. For further details see the limited assurance report availabile in the Sustainability Reports page on our website.
1 The following emissions sources are included within the boundary of our scope 3 reporting: air travel, waste, paper, staff working from home, car hire, taxi travel and transmission & distribution losses. See the FY23 Group Emissions Table.
2 In FY22, IAG updated its science-based absolute emissions reduction targets. To simplify communications we have rounded up the target to 38%, where the exact science-based target is 37.8%. IAG’s previous targets used an FY18 baseline that aligned to a +2°C future.
3 This commitment will drive delivery of our scope 1 and 2 emissions reduction target. The FY25 timeline is reflective of our current operations and will be revisited if our business landscape changes.
4 Full details of the target parameters are included in the FY23 ESG Data Summary.
5 The relevant baselines refer to the following equity indices: the ASX200 (excluding IAG) for Australian equities; and the MSCI World for Global Listed equities, as of June 2020.
